Our National Pastime
Syracuse Stage June 13th-29th, 2025
Along side a stellar team of Creatives, Actors, and Crew, Joe played the roles of David/Nat/Ballplayer in the premiere of this intriguing new play by Rogelio Martinez, and directed by Johanna McKeon. The plot revolves in and around the worlds of Diplomacy, Espionage, and the Astros sign-stealing controversy in MLB, all along the backdrop of the phenomenon called “Havana Syndrome” during US & Cuban relations between 2016-2021.
Cut Them Down - Audiobook
Joe completed narration and production work on his latest audiobook project: Cut Them Down, by multi-hyphenate author T.G. Brown. It’s available now on Audible and the usual audiobook platforms! This one is an old-school Western tale, testing our notions of what makes “good” and “bad” guys within that genre.
Stage Mother: NYC Workshop
In March of 2025, Joe was cast in a developmental workshop of the new musical Stage Mother, produced by the amazing Kevin McCollum and his team, and was presented at New 42 Studios in NYC. The musical is based on the 2020 film of the same title. The 2020 original screenplay and this version’s book are penned by Brad Hennig. Direction & Choreography were helmed by Denis Jones, with a musical score by the amazing duo of Marcy Heisler (Lyrics) & Zina Goldrich (Music). Joe plays Jeb, opposite Broadway rock star Emily Skinner as the tale’s lead: Maybelline. The cast was a who’s who of broadway luminaries, and rising, stars. The story told here couldn’t be more relevant to our times. The piece continues to be developed, so here’s hoping to news of a full production somewhere soon!
